LabDoctor Vortexers are now PR1MA™ Vortexers - New name, same great product.
PR1MA™ V2 Vortex Mixer
- Reversible top platform, cup, or flat-dimpled surface
- Powerful motor for INSTANT vortexing
- Continuous or touch operation
- Q Drive dynamic balancing system
- Variable speed from 200 to 3200 rpm
- Wide variety of accessories, for tubes up to 50 mL
The PR1MA™ V2 Vortex Mixer utilizes a smooth and powerful mixing technology , with the advantage of a uniquely designed reversible rubber head that can be attached to the mixer in two orientations. For the vortexing of single tubes, the cupped surface would generally be preferred. However, for applications requiring a flat/dimpled surface for mixing uniquely shaped vessels (or a handful of multiple test-tubes), the head can easily be flipped over and reattached in reverse orientation.
The drive system is balanced with Q-Drive™ technology, providing a smooth vortexing action, while minimizing noise and excessive vibration. This results in quieter, more efficient and longer lasting operation. With a maximum speed up to 3,200 rpm, the mixer provides an instant vortex of even the largest sample sizes, including full 50 mL tubes.

Benchmark Scientific QuEChERS Vortex Mixer
- For use with QuEChERS and other sample prep methods
- Powerful, hands-free shaking/vortexing
- Pulsing program for interval mixing
- Supplied with QuEChERS rack starter kit: 7 x 50 mL tubes, held horizontally 50 x 15 mL tubes, held vertically 50 x 1.5/2.0 mL tubes, held vertically
Benchmark's BenchMixer XLQ has been designed for use in QuEChERS and other sample prep methods. Supplied with racks for 50 mL tubes held horizontally and 15 mL and 1.5/2.0 mL tubes held vertically, it takes the place of traditional manual shaking in these applications.
Multiple samples can be processed simultaneously in the BenchMixer XLQ's large capacity racks, saving time and preventing operator fatigue. The vigorous, consistent shaking ensures all samples are exposed to identical conditions within the same batch of samples, as well as between batches.
The BenchMixer XLQ creates a true vortex in vertical sample racks by holding the top of the tube stationary while the bottom rotates in a 3.6 mm orbit. Time and speed are precisely controlled by the digital microprocessor. A pulse mode allows for more vigorous mixing. Quiet operation, minimal vibration and a long service life are guaranteed by the precisely balanced drive system and powerful motor.
Using the BenchMixer XLQ is simple. To load the sample racks, loosen the knobs on the stationary steel rods and raise the top sample plate. One rod is shorter than the other, allowing the plate to be lifted up and swiveled to one side. After samples are loaded, lower the plate into place and tighten the knobs. Select the desired speed and run time on the digital control panel and press start. The BenchMixer XLQ can perform unattended mixing for as little as 1 minute or up to 100 hours.
While the BenchMixer XLQ is configured primarily for QuEChERS protocols, additional racks are available to accommodate nearly any type of vessel commonly found in the laboratory (ask for details). Built for heavy-duty use, the instrument carries a 2-year warranty.

- Shake and incubate samples simultaneously
- Complete with shaking racks for 15ml and 50ml conical tubes
- Intelligent, digital control
- Broad temperature and speed range
Designed for simultaneous heating and mixing of small samples, the VorTemp 1550 is supplied with interchangeable platforms for standard 15ml and 50ml conical tubes. Maximum capacity is 8 x 50mL or 18 x 15mL. Temperature in the VorTemp 1550 is adjustable over a broad range, making the unit useful for a variety of applications, including bacterial cultures and digestions. Mechanical convection provides a uniform and stable environment within the chamber. The VorTemp 1550 may also be used in the cold room for subambient applications.
Shaking speed as well as acceleration rates are adjustable. Acceleration can be set to three different levels to protect delicate samples.
A microprocessor controls all parameters including temperature and timed operation. Self-diagnostic software continuously monitors the unit for proper temperature and shaking speed, alerting the user to any errors. Heating and shaking are controlled by feedback loops which precisely maintain chosen parameters, independent of load or voltage fluctuations.
The sturdy construction of the VorTemp 1550 gives it stability during high speed shaking. The chamber is insulated to maintain temperature and reduce operating noise.
