Pro Tip: Colored plastics do not have any impact on DNA amplification. But when setting up qPCR it is often recommended to use white plastics. This will limit or prevent fluorescence refraction. Light refraction can minimize sensitivity and consistency.
Pro Tip 2: If you are seeing inconsistencies in PCR/qPCR try PR1MA Pipette Tips. This will help optimize and reduce variance in the reactions. Simple test, see the residual liquid left in tips? This means some of the taq, dNTPs, sample, etc is left in the tip. PR1MA tips help reduce that significantly and improve your consistency.
Pro Tip 3: Seeing evaporation in the outer wells of a PCR/qPCR plate? Sometimes it’s the plate, sometimes it the seal, and sometimes it’s the cycler. Call us we have solutions.

Intensity:- Select models offer single intensity other models include variable intensity. Refer to the part numbers tab for information.

- High setting allows for UV excitation of fluorophores on gels for routine photography. Medium is excellent for viewing and quick single-band excision. Low setting allows for positioning and preparation of gels, excising multiple bands, and focusing for photography.

Note about UV: UVP refers to its midrange UV products as 302nm. Other manufacturers may say 300nm, 310nm or 312nm. The spectral output of these units is the same as UVP's 302nm.

Shortwave XX Series Lamps use ultraviolet radiation as a reliable and effective tool for sterilization and sanitation applications in hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and clinics. Work surfaces and equipment can become contaminated with bacteria which may be passed through the air or by hand infecting research projects and workers. In addition to bacteria, yeast, mold spores, germs, and viruses may also be present. Shortwave XX Series UV Lamps can kill up to 99% of these organisms. Decontaminate work surfaces with UV prior to PCR to reduce air-borne contamination during DNA sequencing. UV sterilization is particularly useful for temperature sensitive applications due to low operating lamp temperatures.
Shortwave Lamps can be used in an upward facing position for purifying the air or in a downward position for sanitizing work surfaces. Hanging the lamp (brackets provided) reduces the space required on laboratory benchtops. Longwave UV Bulbs (365nm) also available for all models. 1 year warranty

The UltraSlim® LED Illuminator is designed for viewing stained gels on the laboratory bench, or within gel documentation systems. Safer lighting from the LED source inside the instrument produces blue light with a narrow emission peak centered at approximately 470 nm, which is more effective for the excitation of most nucleic acid and protein stains. Viewing surface is 120mm x 70mm.
These optically clear polyester films are ideally suited for Real Time PCR (qPCR). They feature an inert, ultra-clear, and strong encapsulated silicone adhesive that provides extraordinary performance in real-time PCR applications.
Encapsulated silicone greatly reduces the risk of sample contamination due to exposure to adhesive. Once the film is pressed onto the plate, the raised portion of the well penetrates the encapsulation and a tight seal is formed on just that surface (not over the sample). This silicone seal adheres aggressively and diminishes the possibility of "Edge Effect".
The plasticized backing of this film is scored on both ends to allow for two handed (precise) placement on the plate. Both film and adhesive maintain incredible clarity and are the choice for highly demanding manual and automated processes.

The polyester films are a great general purpose seal; ideal for sample protection and elimination of well-to-well sample cross contamination. The acrylic adhesive offers a strong bond that seals tightly on polypropylene and polystyrene plates.
This seal is ideally suited for short term storage, Elisa assays, prevention of sample loss, and general lab usage.
The paper backing of this film is scored on both ends to allow for two handed (precise) placement on the plate.

For applications where accessing samples through the seal with pipet tips or a probe is required, see the pierceable aluminum (MID-PCR-200) film.
