"Mini sized" doesn't have to mean a sacrifice on features and performance. PR1MA's™ LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler offers advanced programming features, easy to use software and fast, reliable cycling but with a smaller block and lower price point.
Designed for lower throughput needs, the LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler has a capacity for 32 x 0.2 mL tubes. The wells are arranged in a 4 x 8 format, allowing the block to accept strips of 8 as well as individual tubes. The block heats and cools very quickly - at rates as fast as 5°C/second. A proprietary algorithm controls block temperature, bringing samples quickly to the target temperature without any over- or under-shoot. Excellent block uniformity ensures consistency sample to sample.
Operation of the thermal cycler is controlled from the large, full color, touch screen. Icon driven menus allow users to get running quickly. Programming is extremely simple and includes options for time and temperature increment/decrements, adjustable ramp rates, and an auto pause and restart functions. More than 100 typical programs can be stored in memory and easily recalled. After a run, samples can be held at 4°C. An on-screen report is also available at the completion of a run.
The heated lid is self-adjusting - the spring loaded platen in the lid comes firmly into contact with the tops of the tubes to prevent sample evaporation and condensation. There are no knobs to turn or levers to adjust. The temperature of the heated lid can be changed, or the heating function of the lid may be turned off.
With a footprint less than that of the average laboratory notebook, the LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler will fit almost anywhere. Its reduced capacity block and economical price make the TC-32 Mini Thermal Cycler the perfect choice for lower throughput laboratories and educational facilities.

The Owl Millipede horizontal A6 wide system offers a simple, convenient and fast method for screening multiple samples on a single agarose gel. 25 to 500 samples can be run simultaneously on one gel; producing clear, tight banding patterns with no "smiling".
The Millipede incorporates Owl's end gate casting design. Each side of the UVT gel tray is fitted with gasketed end gates which provide a leakproof seal without tape. Built in leveling ensures the casting of flat, uniformly thick gels. Sample loading is greatly enhanced using micro well pipette format combs (and a multichannel pipette) engineered specifically for use with this system. The Owl Gator horizontal A2 large system is a simple, convenient and fast system for detailed DNA/RNA analysis on multiple samples. This system offers the widest variety of comb options and when used with a wall comb you can cast varying length gels to conserve agarose.
The Gator incorporates Owl's end gate casting system design. Each side of the UVT gel tray is fitted with a gasketed end gate which provides a leakproof seal without tape. Built in leveling ensures the casting of flat, uniformly thick gels. Sample loading is greatly enhanced using micro well pipette format combs (and a multichannel pipette) engineered specifically for use with this system. Using these combs and a multichannel pipette, samples may be loaded directly from a 96-well plate, 8 or 12 at a time. The maximum suggested applied voltage for the electrophoresis of DNA in agarose gels using the IB53000-MP1015 is 140 volts. In a 1% TBE gel, this translates into a run time of approx. 1 hour. Lower voltages can be used of course, and as a general rule a 70 volt run will take twice as long as a 140 volt run. Higher voltages can be used to decrease run time however, higher voltages can produce excessive heat and decrease sample resolution. |
