The Tissue-Tearor is a rotor/stator type tissue homogenizer which can rapidly homogenize, disperse, and emulsify samples in 0.2 - 1000 ml of liquid. During operation, the suspended material is drawn into the core of the homogenizer by a rotor turning at up to 35,000 rpm. The material is repeatedly cycled through six narrow slits in the stator where it is rapidly sheared and disintegrated by high frequency mechanical action. Complete homogenization of tissues (muscle, liver, breast tissue, etc.) is usually achieved in ten to thirty seconds. Little, if any, heat is produced during the process.

Unlike most other Brands of rotor/stator type homogenizers, the Tissue-Tearor comes complete - that is, with both a motor and a probe (aka, generator, dispersing tool) - both included in one price.

Specifications:

  • Sample Volume Range: 0.3 to 1000 ml, depending on the probe selected (see table below).
  • Universal Motor: 120 VAC, 138 watts or , for overseas applications, 230VAC2
  • Variable Speed: 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, incremented by 5000 rpm.
  • Probes made of Type 316 Stainless Steel with flurocarbon bushings.
