Mystaire® PCR Prep Stations
They are compact laminar flow enclosures that reduce the risk of sample contamination while performing polymerase chain reaction experiments.
Airborne contaminants are prevented from entering into the work zone through constant positive pressure HEPA filtered air. Each PCR prep station is equipped with a built-in 254 nanometer shortwave lamp to effectively decontaminate the work area between amplifications. Safety interlocks are included on all PCR prep stations to prevent operator exposure to potentially harmful UV radiation.
MY-PCR prep stations are bench-top personal clean zones allowing the operator to amplify RNA and DNA while minimizing the potential for background from airborne contaminants.
Note: MY-PCR and FE-PCR are not biological safety cabinets. They are designed to provide process protection only from potential airborne contaminants found in the laboratory space.

PR1MA™ Microplate Microcentrifuge
- Quickly spins down droplets in PCR plates (less than 20 seconds)
- Accepts skirted, non-skirted, standard, and most microtiter PCR plates
- 50% smaller than traditional centrifuges
- Unique rotor design prevents sample spillage
The PR1MA™ Microplate Microcentrifuge is the first mini sized centrifuge with a swing out rotor for microplates. Centrifuging plates before PCR ensures all reactants are in the bottom of the wells for proper concentrations and improved yields.
The easily accessible rotor chamber includes two plate carriers that rest at a 75° angle. This allows plates to be inserted confidently without sealing tapes or caps. Upon closing the centrifuge lid, the rotor accelerates and the centrifugal force "swings" the plates into a horizontal position, concentrating any droplets on the plate walls to the well bottoms.

MultiGene™ Thermal Cycler
MIDSCI bring you the new MultiGene™ Thermal Cycler, which guarantees to produce consistent and reliable results while making gradient technology affordable. This unit is extremely simple to program, compact in design and built to perform.
Features:
- Faster speeds - up to 30 min
- Gradient capability
- 6-segment block temperature control
- Independent block temperature selection capabilities
- Precision thermal control
- TM calculator
- PC Viewer
- No condensation after overnight cooling at 4°C
- Simple, user-friendly programming
- 3-yr warranty
The MultiGene™ OptiMax employs a new protocol optimization process improving on older gradient features. The OptiMax utilizes Flex™ technology that effectively separates the 96 well plate into 6 - (4 x 4) temperature regions that allow you to pick the temperatures you want to test against. These regions are easily identified by the blue and black squares visible on the microplate platen. Instead of having the thermal cycler choose temperatures for you, you can choose any temperatures you want within a 24°C range.
The MultiGene™ OptiMax has a heating rate of 4°C /sec and a cooling rate of 3°C/sec. We have minimized overshooting and undershooting so that your reactions only see the temperatures they are supposed to see. This also leads to faster runs time.
New is the PC Viewer Option.
By downloading our software from our website and attaching a USB cable to your Windows PC to can view the temperature profiles real time as they are occurring to monitor your system.
Intuitive User Interface
The MultiGene™ OptiMax utilizes an intuitive user interface. This user interface is friendly to the laboratory environment and consistent with what our customers previously enjoyed in our earlier models. It can be used with lab gloves even if wet. We have improved the ramping speed and eliminated overshooting and undershooting which contributes to longer run times.
Fully Adjustable Heated Lid
The OptiMax's heated lid is fully adjustable to provide optimum pressure for use with a broad range of tubes and microplates. For optimum performance, the lid can also be programmed to hold different temperatures between 60° to 65°C and 100° to 115°C. The OptiMax lid prevents condensation and slides away and back from the user to provide full access to samples and reduce the risk of coming in contact with a hot surface.

- View DNA migration and separation as it happens
- Blue light illumination - won't damage DNA
- Capture high resolution images without removing the gel from the tank
The myGel InstaView comes complete with everything needed to cast, run, and view mini electrophoresis gels, including an integrated power supply.
Gels are easily poured using the supplied trays, combs and leak-proof casting stand. One large (10.5x10cm) or one small (10.5x6cm) gel is accommodated by the gel tank.
The power supply connects directly into the gel tank. With no more leads to contend with the connection is guaranteed to be right, every time. Output voltage can be adjusted to 35V, 50V, or 100V and run time can be set for up to 99 minutes. If the lid is not properly in place a magnetic interlock between the gel tank and the lid prevents current from running through the system.
Once the system is set up, slide the mini LED transilluminator into place under the tank and at any time turn it on to view the run in real time. An array of blue LEDs emits bright blue light at a wavelength of 465nm for optimal excitation of common green fluorescent stains such as SmartGlow, SYBYR Green and Gel Green, without damaging DNA. An orange filter is incorporated into the lid for visualizing DNA bands eliminating the need for additional equipment or special glasses.
To document results, place the included gel imaging enclosure over top of the myGel InstaView and use the camera ap on any smart phone to capture high resolution images without removing the gel from the tank. Images can easily be shared via email, text, or printed.

myView™ Compact UV Transilluminator
- Uniform Illumination | Four 302 nm Bulbs
- Adjustable UV Safety Cover | Easy Access to Gels
- Large Scratch Resistant Viewing | 16.5 x 13.5 cm
The E3100 Compact UV Transilluminator has a surprisingly small footprint (just over 12 x 8 inches) yet provides industry leading performance. It will accommodate one or two mini gels on the 16.5 x 13.5 cm scratch resistant viewing surface.
The integrated UV blocking cover is made from a polymer that will not fluoresce in UV light. This allows clear viewing of DNA bands through the cover yet offers full UV blocking protection. Two friction hinges on the front edge of the cover allow for full adjustment. Position the cover horizontally for general viewing, tilt it at an angle for gel access and band cutting, or open fully to use the SmartDoc™ Imaging Enclosure (sold separately) for gel imaging with a smartphone.
The transilluminator’s four 6W bulbs evenly illuminate the viewing surface, and the 302 nm wavelength is ideal for Ethidium Bromide, SmartGlow™, SYBR Green®, Gel Green™ and many other common gel stains. Spacing of the UV bulbs, coupled with a reflector system and special diffusing filter glass provides exceptional uniformity across the viewing surface. This allows for quantification of DNA and higher quality imaging when used with a camera system.
